Paramount Hardwood Flooring in Peoria, IL
Start your hardwood search with the grain you want to see every day. Paramount Kenebec European oak and Silver Bell hickory offer two different directions in real engineered wood, with wide planks and a lightly brushed surface.
At Columbia Rug Carpet One Floor & Home in Peoria, we can help you compare the collection, color, room conditions and installation details before you decide. Bring a cabinet sample, paint color or a photo of the adjoining room so your flooring choice has a clear starting point.
Two real-wood collections to compare
Kenebec uses European oak with a lightly wire-brushed surface. Manufacturer colors include Natural, Dakota Wheat, Roman Column and Tea Chest. Natural is identified as E533. This is a useful collection to explore when an oak grain pattern is central to your design.
Silver Bell uses American hickory and a lightly wire-brushed surface. Its manufacturer color range includes Ramie, Fenland and Jute, with Ramie identified as E530. Compare several boards to understand the natural character rather than choosing from one small corner of a sample.
Both collections have a layered engineered construction and a 7.5-inch plank width. Those details belong in the comparison alongside color and price. Ask to review the exact product label so the collection on your quote matches the floor you selected.
Plan the room before choosing the installation
An engineered floor still needs a suitable subfloor and indoor conditions. The right plan depends on whether the room is over wood or concrete, the condition of the existing floor, transitions into nearby rooms and the manufacturer's instructions for the selected product.

Frequently asked questions
Are Kenebec and Silver Bell real wood?
Yes. They are engineered hardwood collections with a real-wood face over a layered construction. Kenebec is European oak; Silver Bell is American hickory.
Is engineered hardwood the same as laminate?
No. Engineered hardwood has a real-wood surface. Laminate uses a decorative surface to create its appearance. Compare actual samples and the exact product specifications before choosing.
Can either collection go over concrete?
Paramount lists multiple installation methods and grade levels for these collections. The method for your home still depends on the subfloor, moisture conditions and current installation instructions. Have the room assessed before deciding.
Can I refinish these floors later?
Do not assume a refinishing schedule from the word hardwood alone. Ask a qualified professional to assess the exact product, wood-face thickness and condition before planning any sanding or refinishing.
How much will my project cost?
